The rally in D.C. is an absolute disgrace. January 6th wasn’t patriotism, it wasn’t protest, and it wasn’t “free speech under attack.” It was an assault on democracy, carried out in broad daylight, fueled by lies, and followed by attempts to rewrite history.
Holding a rally to glorify or excuse January 6th isn’t about honoring America it’s about normalizing political violence and demanding silence from everyone who remembers what actually happened. It’s an insult to the officers who were beaten, the institutions that were attacked, and the millions of people who watched in horror.
The resistance exists because memory matters. Because accountability matters. And because a country that shrugs at an attempted coup is a country sleepwalking toward authoritarianism.
January 6th was a warning. Turning it into a rally is proof that the warning is still being ignored and that standing up is still necessary.
