(SOMETIMES NONTRADITIONAL or LONG FORGOTTEN) CHRISTMAS MOVIE COUNTDOWN: #11

The Princess Bride: If you’re thinking “You keep saying Christmas movie. I do not think it means what you think it means”, I say “My name is Anne P. Mitchell, you tried to kill my Christmas buzz, prepare to be refuted!” The Princess Bride is not only a classic movie in its own right, and a wonderful “lines” movie (a movie which spawns lots of iconic lines that people quote in a myriad of situations), but it’s actually *set during Christmas*. In the movie the book itself is a Christmas gift to the young grandson (well, actually his grandfather reading it to him is the real gift, in my mind). It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Have fun watching the movie!

“A fairy tale adventure about a beautiful young woman and her one true love. He must find her after a long separation and save her. They must battle the evils of the mythical kingdom of Florin to be reunited with each other. ”
