REMEMBER THE WHOLE “WE ARRESTED ANTIFA MEMBERS” PUFFERY IN THE TEXAS SHOOTINGS? I HAVE THE INDICTMENT, AND THE COMPLAINT WHICH TELLS A DIFFERENT STORY

Let me take you back to September, when Trump issued his executive order “Designating Antifa as a Domestic Terrorist Organization”. As I told you at the time, and as lots of you observed yourself, there is no actual organization known as “Antifa”. Antifa stands for “anti-fascist”. It would be like an executive order “Designating Feminism as a Domestic Terrorist Organization” (actually I’d better not give him any ideas).

Anyways, when the shooting happened outside the Texas immigration center on July 4th, the administration was quick to label the defendants as “part of an Antifa cell”. In fact they put out a press release (included for Notes from the Front members) claiming “Antifa Cell Members Indicted in Prairieland Shooting”. Because nobody doubles down on nonsense like this administration doubles down on nonsense. This is, to stretch the analogy, like saying “Members of Feminism Cell Infiltrate Press Corp, Won’t Be Quiet Despite Oral Executive Order”.

And, in fact, the indictment (included for Notes from the Front members) mentions Antifa 20 times, including in its opening paragraph:

“Late at night on the Fourth of July, 2025, a North Texas Antifa Cell (Antifa Cell) of at least eleven operatives, clad in black and donning masks, some of whom were wearing body armor and carrying firearms, attacked the Prairieland Detention Center (Prairieland) in Alvarado, Texas. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security was using Prairieland to house illegal aliens awaiting deportation. Members of the Antifa Cell began shooting fireworks towards the facility and vandalizing vehicles and a guard shed. Alarmed at the presence of people near the facility late at night, DHS correctional officers inside the facility went outside to investigate. Other DHS personnel called local police for assistance. Within minutes, an officer from the Alvarado Police Department arrived on scene, stepped out of his cruiser, and began issuing commands to a black-clad figure running towards another black-clad figure holding a rifle. One Antifa member Coconspirator-1-yelled, ‘get to the rifles.’ ”

Now, again, this is the indictment by the grand jury. During grand jury proceedings the government (the prosecutor) presents its case to the grand jury, and then the grand jury determines whether there is enough there to indict. The prosecutor who is making the case to the grand jury is essentially spoon-feeding their view and theory of the case to the grand jury, much like opening and closing arguments. In other words, the government was free to say “antifa” to the grand jury, even though antifa as an organized group isn’t actually a thing.

And the government attorneys on the ground *know* that there actually is no organized Antifa group. And that even if there *were* (there isn’t), it would not be against the law to be a member of a group that is sympathetic to anti-fascism sentiment.

AND THAT IS WHY ANTIFA IS NOT MENTIONED EVEN ONCE IN THE ACTUAL COMPLAINT!

If you read the Complaint (also included for Notes from the Front members) you will see that it’s a regular criminal complaint, alleging regular criminal activities. Attempted murder and that sort of thing. In fact, not only doesn’t the Complaint mention Antifa, it doesn’t even mention terrorist activities; the only time the term ‘terrorism’ appears in the Complaint is in an included statement by an FBI agent explaining that his background is in terrorism and counter-terrorism.

There *are no charges* of being a member of “Antifa”.

Here’s why this is important: because it’s further proof that the Antifa executive order was B.S., just like so many of the executive orders (and remember that executive orders are *not* law, they do not have the force of law). It was intended to a) keep his base whipped into a frenzy like so many rabid dogs going after an illusory fox, and b) to provide smoke and mirror “powers” to see how much they can get away with before the adults in the room (the judges) take their toys away.
