Name: Susie Wiles

Susie Wiles, born Susan Summerall on May 14, 1957, in New Jersey, is an American political consultant and strategist. She is the daughter of Pat Summerall, a former NFL placekicker and renowned sportscaster. Wiles graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Wiles began her political career working for Congressman Jack Kemp and later served as a campaign scheduler for Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign. In 1995, she became the first woman to serve as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, under Mayor John Delaney. She managed Rick Scott’s successful 2010 gubernatorial campaign in Florida and briefly led Jon Huntsman Jr.’s 2012 presidential campaign.

In 2016, Wiles co-chaired Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in Florida, contributing to his victory in the state. She reprised this role in 2020 and 2024, playing a pivotal part in securing Florida for Trump. On November 7, 2024, President-elect Trump appointed Wiles as White House Chief of Staff, making her the first woman to hold this position.

Wiles was married to Lanny Wiles, a fellow Republican consultant, with whom she has two daughters. They divorced in 2017. Her daughter, Katie, was promoted to director at Continental Strategy, a firm associated with Trump’s campaign.

Known for her strategic acumen and significant influence in Republican political circles, Wiles has been instrumental in shaping campaign strategies and political outcomes at both state and national levels.
