Linda Marie McMahon (née Edwards; born October 4, 1948) is an American business executive and politician. She co-founded World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) with her husband, Vince McMahon, serving as president and later CEO from 1980 to 2009. Under their leadership, WWE expanded from a regional operation to a global entertainment company.
In 2009, McMahon transitioned into politics, serving on the Connecticut State Board of Education. She ran as the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Connecticut in 2010 and 2012 but was unsuccessful in both elections. From 2017 to 2019, she served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration under President Donald Trump.
On November 19, 2024, President-elect Donald Trump nominated McMahon to serve as Secretary of Education. This nomination is pending Senate confirmation.
