MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
On this day, 66 years ago, I spent the day in the custody of Child Protective Services, my mother having gone out to a Christmas Eve party the night before and never come back, leaving her four children, the eldest of whom was all of 6 years old, and me, the youngest, being eighteen months old, to our own devices for Christmas. I’d say my life has certainly looked up since then!
I am eternally grateful for the grace, blessings, and yes, miracles, in my life that have brought me from there to here (and now you know why that’s the title of my memoir :~) ), for me the holiday season is a very good time to look back and remember them, and to be so very grateful for them. And one of these blessing is YOU! It is still amazing to me that you are here with me, allowing me to share with you.. thank you!!
