I HAVE THE MADURO INDICTMENT

Here’s a bit of what it says. (Notes from the Front members, the entire thing is in your inbox now.)

REMEMBER: This indictment was filed under seal in 2020. It was then updated this year (which is why it says “Superseding”).

The first 17 1/2 pages of the 25-page indictment are the narrative, with the actual charges starting on page 18.

The narrative starts out “For over 25 years, leaders of Venezuela have abused their positions of public trust and corrupted once-legitimate institutions to import tons of cocaine into the United States.”

The indictment then goes on to explain that Maduro, along with co-defendants (and alleged co-conspirators) Diosdado Cabello Rondon, Ramon Rodriguez Chacin, Cilia Adela Flores De Maduro, Nicolas Ernesto Maduro Guerra, and Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, and along with the FARC, have partnered “to transport thousands of tons of cocaine to the United States,” and that further the FARC has “directed violent acts against United States persons and property in foreign jurisdictions, including, but not limited to, Colombia. For example, from at least in or about 2003 to in or about 2008, FARC leadership ordered FARC members to kidnap and murder United States citizens and to attack United States interests in order to dissuade the United States from continuing its efforts to fumigate and disrupt the FARC’s manufacturing and distribution of cocaine and cocaine paste.”

Then there are pages more that go on in a similar vein.

I find the term “fumigate” to be a bit odd.

But then, the entire narrative of the indictment reads unlike any other indictment I’ve seen. Rather than a straight-forward retelling of the facts as they are known, the narrative in this indictment reads like a dime-store potboiler, with a whole lot of exposition – some of it subjective at that – rather than just facts.

The charges, starting on page 18, include:

1. Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy
2. Cocaine Importation Conspiracy
3. Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices
4. Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices

Notes from the Front members: the full 25-page indictment is in your inbox.

To preserve original source documents before they can be tampered with (remember the 16 documents that mysteriously disappeared from the Epstein files?), and protect myself from claims of improper republication, and trolls, I don’t publicly share documents I find, I make them available privately to Notes from the Front members. Often these are non-public documents for which I have had to pay out of my own pocket in order to share them with you. Others of them may be public but I find the source originals for you and include explanations and insights based on my decades of law practice and as a law professor, with a side of snark. ;~)

You can join at the link below for immediate access to these documents, the archives, our private chat, etc.. – it’s $5 a month which both keeps the trolls out, and helps to cover my expenses for our private dropbox, for purchasing transcripts and documents to share with you, etc..
