HERE IS THE VIDEO OF PETE HEGSETH IN 2016 EXPLAINING, APPROVINGLY, WHY THE MILITARY DOESN’T FOLLOW UNLAWFUL ORDERS
This is the clip where Hegseth explains why the military doesn’t (and shouldn’t) follow unlawful orders, he said it during a talk before The Conservative Forum, in April of 2016. The full talk is one hour and twenty-two minutes. You can see the full video on YouTube here, assuming they haven’t disappeared it:
Notes from the Front members: I have also preserved the full video in our private dropbox here:

The part about unlawful orders starts at just about 1:00:00 (i.e. one hour into the video).
I paid to source this *directly* from CNN to be sure of the chain of custody.
Here are the exact words of that particular quote:
“If you’re doing something that is just completely unlawful, and ruthless, then there is a consequence for that. That’s why the military said it won’t follow unlawful orders from their Commander-in-Chief. There’s a standard, an ethos, a belief that we are above what so many things our enemies or others would do.”
Keep in mind that this talk was given in April in 2016, when Obama was Commander-in-Chief.
If you’re a Notes from the Front member the full, un-monkeyed-with (yes, that’s a legal term) video is in our dropbox here:
