A federal judge ruled that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s funding cannot be cut off. The Trump administration argued that the agency’s financing structure was unlawful. In her decision, Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the U.S. District Court in Washington held that the C.F.P.B. may continue drawing funds from the Federal Reserve, even though the central bank has been running at a deficit since 2022.
