With the likelihood of a government shutdown increasing, the Trump administration has threatened federal employees with mass firings if Congress does not reach a funding deal within the next week. The warning came in a memo from the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which directed federal agencies to draw up plans for large-scale dismissals should a shutdown occur.
