Across the country, special elections keep going against Trump and his allies and that backlash is exactly why his administration is doubling down. The Department of Justice sued six states, including Pennsylvania, the nation’s biggest presidential battleground, in a push to seize voter data.
The lawsuits target California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, following earlier cases filed against Maine and Oregon. All of these states have rejected previous demands to hand over statewide voter rolls containing sensitive personal information.
Because of repeated defeats in special elections, Trump’s team is escalating legal battles to force access to voter data a move that is a direct attempt to undermine privacy and control future elections after being rejected at the ballot box.
