The federal vaccine advisory panel, appointed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., voted against adding a combined measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox vaccine to a federal program that covers vaccination costs. The decision reversed a vote taken the previous day, after several members acknowledged they had misunderstood the wording of the original proposal. What a mess, they are so under qualified they don’t even understand the wording.

This is dangerous. That means federal funding wouldn’t cover it, not that the vaccine is unsafe or unavailable. If the vaccine isn’t covered under the federal program, some families would face higher out-of-pocket costs or have to get the vaccines separately instead of the single combined shot. That would lower convenience and reduce uptake, which would, in turn, leave more children unprotected!
