Congress is finally looking into a whistleblower claim. Senate Finance Committee Chair Sen. Michael D. Crapo (R-Idaho) asked the Social Security Administration to provide details about the agency mishandled sensitive data. The concerns stem from a whistleblower claim filed last month by Charles Borges, the agency’s former chief data officer, who warned that the personal information of hundreds of millions of Americans may have been exposed. In his letter, Crapo emphasized the gravity of the claims and pressed the SSA for answers.
