A federal appeals court ruled 2–1 that it lacked jurisdiction to intervene in a dispute over $16 billion in climate grants frozen by the Trump administration, siding with the government’s effort to reclaim the funds. The decision blocks environmental groups from accessing money they were awarded more than a year ago, with the majority opinion stressing that any hardship to nonprofits does not outweigh the Trump’s interest in “safeguarding taxpayer dollars”.
