Today we celebrate the strength and resilience of working people everywhere. Nearly 300,000 federal employees have lost their jobs this year not because of necessity, but because of a political agenda. And while people’s lives were destroyed in the name of “saving money,” the government is still on track to spend more this year than last.
As we gather with friends and family, let’s also stand together. Labor Day is not only about enjoying a well-earned rest it’s about remembering the struggles and sacrifices that built this holiday in the first place.
