The theatrics in D.C. are becoming absurd. Trump deployed the Diplomatic Security Service into the city only adds to the spectacle, why would you even send them into D.C., lmao? Meanwhile, small businesses are struggling; some sales are now reported as worse than during the pandemic, while MAGA theatrics waste taxpayer money.
Just look at the cost: deploying around 2,091 National Guard troops to D.C. racks up more than $1 million every single day, at roughly $530 per Guard member per day.
And here’s the kicker, crime rates in many “blue states” have been in steady decline decade over decade since the 1990s. But take Ohio, a “red state” that chose to send its Guard to D.C. In 2024, violent crime per 100,000 residents was:
– Cleveland: 1,550
– Dayton: 1,325
– Toledo: 1,048
Compare that with Washington, D.C.: 932.
So Ohio is overrun by more crime than DC yet 2,091 Guard members are in D.C. Meanwhile, D.C. residents feel so “safe” they don’t even go out to eat anymore, crushing local sales. This isn’t about safety at all; it’s the government propaganda machine running in overdrive.
