A Yosemite National Park ranger has been fired, and others could still face charges, after a massive transgender pride flag was hung from El Capitan earlier this year. Shannon “SJ” Joslin, a bat biologist, received a termination letter last week citing “unacceptable conduct.” Joslin joined activists in raising the 66-foot flag on May 20, where it remained for about two hours. They were off duty at the time and took part as a private citizen. Shortly afterward, Yosemite updated its regulations to prohibit flags larger than 15 square feet.
