It just never ends. Last night three local Texas activists, along with a Democratic leader, gathered at the Texas Capitol to show support for Rep. Nicole Collier. Collier who had refused to sign a GOP-mandated “permission slip” requiring a Department of Public Safety escort and was instead forced to stage an overnight protest on the House floor, since she was being held against her will. Her supporters, however, were arrested on criminal trespass charges because the Capitol had just been declared closed. The arrests came at 10:31 p.m. only one minute after the official cutoff. Step out of line by a single minute, and the man come and take you away!
