A federal appeals court ruled that teams linked to the DOGE can access sensitive information on millions of Americans. The 2–1 decision by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit overturns a lower court’s February order blocking that access. The judges pointed to a June Supreme Court ruling in a comparable case involving Social Security records to justify granting access to data housed within the Treasury Department, the Education Department, and the Office of Personnel Management.
