We’re excited to announce a new partnership with the Yosemite Climbing Association to launch a giving fund dedicated to supporting small, high-impact nonprofits. Our first $5,000 donation is going out this week to help support their efforts.
Every two weeks, we’ll spotlight an organization doing meaningful work, especially those feeling the strain from government funding cuts, and send a donation their way. We’ll also highlight their impact and invite you to get involved, whether by donating, sharing their story, or jumping in directly.
In the past, our community-funded initiatives have included free seed packs, national park passes for students, and cleanup kits. Demand for these efforts has been overwhelming, a clear sign that small, grassroots support can spark real change. We’re still planning to launch a free Junior Ranger program, where kids can complete tasks at parks and earn badges. Most of the materials are already in hand, and we can’t wait to bring it to life.
We’re especially proud to kick things off with the Yosemite Climbing Association. YCA is doing vital work to protect and celebrate Yosemite’s climbing culture through stewardship, education, and storytelling. They organize Yosemite Facelift, a massive week-long cleanup that brings thousands of climbers, locals, and park visitors together to care for the park they love. It’s the largest volunteer event in any national park, and it’s about much more than trash, it’s about building community and protecting a place that matters to all of us.
YCA also runs the Yosemite Climbing Museum, home to more than 10,000 artifacts dating back to 1875. From George Anderson’s first ascent of Half Dome to the golden era of big wall climbing, the museum tells the story of how climbing helped shape Yosemite, and how Yosemite shaped climbing.
Small nonprofits like YCA are the heartbeat of public lands and outdoor culture. They need our support now more than ever. Let’s show up for them.
In the comments below, we’ll include a donation link to the Yosemite Climbing Association and a link to follow them on social media.
