NASA has reversed course and will not host the National Climate Assessments on its website, despite initially saying it would preserve access after the Trump administration removed them from the official climate science portal. These congressionally mandated reports, published regularly since 2000, detail the effects of climate change across the United States and outline local response strategies. The latest assessment was released in 2023. Earlier this year, the administration cut funding for the Global Change Research Program and dismissed scientists who had been working on the next report, scheduled for 2028.
