Last night, the Department of Health and Human Services sent termination letters to employees who were originally fired in April but temporarily reinstated due to a lower court ruling. The Supreme Court cleared the way last week for those firings to proceed.
The letters, sent to staff at agencies including the NIH, FDA, and Administration for Community Living, referenced the Court’s decision and stated that the terminations were effective immediately. An HHS official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that all affected employees not protected by ongoing legal holds have now been officially dismissed.
