Here is a list of reported conditions at the Florida Everglades immigration “camp”. These reports come directly from detainees and their loved ones. A major concern is the lack of oversight, as reporters, legislators, and local officials were initially denied access and only later offered a restricted tour.
Reported conditions:
– No access to clean water for drinking, bathing, or toilets
– Power outages due to failing generators
– No working air conditioning during long blackouts
– Phones unusable during outages
– Only one meal per day(some reportedly served with maggots)
– No access to medication for chronic conditions
– Inability to bathe for days
– Restrooms unusable
– Constant lighting 24/7, disrupting sleep
– Severe mosquito infestations
– High temperatures inside tents, causing extreme sweating
– Confiscation of religious materials
– Denial of religious freedom or services
– Environmental hazards: heat, flooding, and disease-carrying insects

There urgently needs to be greater oversight and accountability.
