Our national parks are in trouble.
Since Trump returned to office, the National Park Service has lost nearly a quarter of its full-time staff. That’s thousands of people who used to care for trails, run visitor centers, respond to emergencies, and protect the land, gone.
The parks are still open, but they’re running on fumes. Employees are being stretched thin, often doing the work of two or three people just to keep things going. Summer is the busiest time of year, but the agency is way behind on hiring seasonal help. The crowds keep coming, but the staff isn’t.
The Park Service manages over 400 sites and 85 million acres across the country. These are the places we go to hike, camp, learn, and connect with something bigger than ourselves. And they’re being neglected.
This isn’t just about jobs, it’s about protecting what makes America beautiful. If we want to keep these places safe and open for everyone, we have to stop the cuts and hire staff!
