Good news! We posted about this yesterday, but here’s a deeper look:

A dangerous provision buried in Trump’s domestic policy bill has been struck down.

Republicans tried to make it harder to challenge Trump’s executive actions in court, like the ones judges have blocked on immigration, mass federal worker firings, or withholding funds from states.

Their proposal would’ve forced anyone suing the government to pay a financial bond up front just to temporarily stop a policy while the case played out. If they lost, they’d owe the government for “damages.” That would’ve priced everyday Americans, advocacy groups, and even some states out of the courtroom, leaving Trump’s most extreme policies unchecked.

But on Sunday, the Senate parliamentarian rejected it. It’s out of the bill. This is a win. But we have to stay alert. Provisions like this can come back unless we call them out. Keep the pressure on.
