A lot of people have questioned our No Kings crowd estimates. Most are citing a 5 million turnout, which is fair. It’s conservative and easy to verify. The media claims L.A. only had 25,000 people, but it doesn’t take much digging to see that number is very low. Other sources report “thousands,” and anyone who was there knows it was far more.
That said, we’re not here to argue. We respect the groups releasing those numbers, they did an incredible job organizing and collaborating. Shout out to the ACLU, Indivisible, and 50501. Amazing work.
What matters is this: the turnout was historic. The exact number doesn’t change what happened. This administration has tried to paint protests as violent riots, but you showed the country what peaceful, powerful resistance really looks like. We’re proud of all of you! Next time let’s make it even bigger!
