Over the past week, we’ve seen a surge in bot and troll accounts mostly pushing pro-Musk or pro-Tesla talking points, along with threats and false claims. Let’s be clear: we don’t allow spam accounts here, and we will not tolerate threats against anyone. This tactic isn’t new. Ed Martin, a Trump administration official, was exposed in court documents for using bots to target judges. He even coached others on how to make the bots look more “organic”. So if it feels like things online are suddenly flooded it’s because they are.

If you’re noticing more bots on Facebook or Reddit, we recommend just blocking or banning them. Bluesky has done an excellent job keeping things well-maintained. They’re usually easy to spot: same comment, over and over, across different posts. We’ve been banning close to 5,000 of them a day. We’re doing our best to keep this space clean but it’s been a rough week. Thanks for hanging in with us.
