This isn’t about ensuring history is “based on facts.” It’s about making sure history aligns with this administration’s narrative.

The Trump administration has ordered every national park to post signs encouraging visitors to report anything that “disparages” America’s past. Museums and monuments are being scrubbed of content that doesn’t fit the approved version of history one that erases injustice, whitewashes violence, and silences dissent.

History isn’t supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to be honest. We don’t learn from a past we pretend didn’t happen. Rewriting our history doesn’t protect us. It makes us weaker. And more likely to repeat the very mistakes they don’t want us to remember.
