Immigrants falsely labeled as deceased by the Social Security Administration are showing up at field offices with documents proving they are alive, prompting staff to reinstate nearly three dozen individuals over the past week. These reversals follow efforts by the DHS and Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service to incorrectly mark approximately 6,100 mostly Latino immigrants as dead in an attempt to pressure them to leave the country. Let this serve as a warning that labeling someone as dead when they are not is the falsification of government documents and it will lead to jail time.
