The Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a lower-court order that would have forced the Trump administration to rehire 16,000 probationary federal workers who were fired. This marks another legal win for the administration in its series of executive order challenges. However, the decision is narrow and not final—the justices said the block will stay in place while the case continues. Meanwhile, a separate judge’s ruling that also calls for many of those workers to be reinstated is still in effect.
