I am not a new mac user by any means, I can usually fix any issue I need to, by reading the system logs and using console etc, with this issue system wont stay unfrozen long enough. Frankly I am stumped with this issue. I just upgraded my macbook from 10.9.2 to 10.9.4 cause mac App store showed it was available for me. The 10.9.4 Combo update is what it downloaded and installed. Said it would fix my wifi issue I have been experiencing so I was happy to install it.
I need advice on how i can figure out why my system is constantly freezing. I have not been able to replicate it on demand, it just seems to happen by itself, I can be using the terminal, not have anything running at all and come back and my system is frozen. Sometimes I can see that the windows and finder no longer are clickable and then the dock the icons no longer move around, then suddenly the mouse is frozen. Only can hold power and shut down.
This is what I have done.
Done the PRAM reset and SMC reset – nothing changed
I have loaded into recovery and repaired both the permissions and the file system. rebooted – nothing changed frozen within minutes of loading up.
Working on getting etrecheck right now, but submitted post early cause i have no idea how long till system freezes again….
